Learners must be employed or willing to be employed in a relevant role.
Individual employers will set their own entry requirements for their apprentices.
Typically candidates will have achieved a grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics, and hold a minimum of 48 UCAS points, or equivalent e.g. 2 A Levels or a pass at BTEC Level 3.
Practical work experience will also be taken into account.
(Apprenticeships are available to start throughout the year)

Training will take place at the Apprentice’s place of work or at Mira Technology Institute

Aim of the Course:
The new apprenticeship standard is aimed at people who are managing project work and teams for businesses and other organisations who are looking to gain more knowledge and understanding of project management.
Projects can be defined and delivered within different contexts, across diverse industry sectors. They can be large or small. Every project needs to be managed to ensure its success, An associate project manager knows what needs to be achieved, how it will be achieved, how long it will take and how much it will cost, and works with the project team to achieve the required outcomes.
Subjects covered include:
- Project governance
- Stakeholder and communications management
- Budgeting and cost control
- Business case
- Scope management
- Consolidated planning
- Schedule management
- Risk, and issue management
- Contract management and procurement
- Quality management.
- Resource management
Training will take the form of monthly one-day master classes delivered at the MTI and then a mixture of independent learning, distance learning and work-based assessments. In addition, you will attend a 5-day course to achieve the APM Project Management qualification.
Apprentices may become student members of the Association for Project Management (APM) as the first step in professional membership.
