Study will include a mixture of theory, undergoing training through practical tasks, a practical repair assessment and an online exam.
Candidates looking to join this course will be required to hold Level 2 maintenance and repair certification and a minimum of 4 years technical vocational knowledge.
This one-day IMI course is for mechanics and technicians that have been working in the trade for four years and looking to study the MOT Testers course but don’t have formal industry qualifications at Level 3. It is also suitable for those that have completed courses in the past but are unable to attain a replacement certificate.
The course will include a morning of training followed by a practical task where technicians will be required to demonstrate safe working practices when carrying out work on a vehicle, diagnose the set faults, and rectify them. The course will end with an online examination. Upon successful completion of this course, technicians will be able to go on to complete the MOT testers course.
