    You must have your live MOT testing card (your MOT testing service user ID).

    Course overview

    This course covers the 6 hours annual CPD training for MOT testers. It is a requirement that MOT Testers complete 3-6 hours of CPD training annually, between April and March, to be able to carry out MOT Tests for their company/testing station. The course covers how to issue MOT certificates, failure documents and other documents for disciplinary points system which vehicle categories fall under group B of the MOT inspection manual for cars and passenger vehicles.

    • Which vehicle categories fall under group A or B
    • The MOT inspection manual for cars and passenger vehicles
    • Online examination
    • How to complete the CPD record template to keep safe along with your certificate of completing CPD. (You have to keep records for 5 years.)

    Additional information

    If you test vehicles in both group A and B, you will need to study all topics and will also need to complete 6 hours of training each year and take 2 annual assessments. Topics include: training on how to issue MOT certificates, failure documents and other documents; the disciplinary points system; which vehicle categories fall under group A or B; the MOT inspection manual for cars and passenger vehicles and how to complete the CPD record template to keep safe along with your certificate of completing CPD (You have to keep records for 5 years).Delegates will also complete an online examination as part of the course.
