    Duration

    The apprenticeship may take up to 24 months to complete (18 months planned delivery with 6 months preparation work for the End Point Assessment).

    Study method

    Apprentices will be based in the workplace throughout the duration of their apprenticeship. As part of the standard, apprentices will be required to attend college for day release training. Subject to numbers, training at college can be delivered in block sessions.

    Entry requirements

    2 GCSEs at Grade E/2 or equivalent, including English and maths. As part of the apprenticeship recruitment process, all candidates will take part in an initial assessment and will need to achieve an Entry Level 2/3 in English and maths to be able to join the programme.

    Course overview

    The aim of this course is to equip the engineering operative technician with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to support their maintenance role within the workplace. We aim to support this with effective planning, the apprentice having excellent teaching and learning experience whilst working together with apprentices and their employer’s all the way through the planned programme of study.
